    Secure Firewall 4200 Series

High-end firewalls for large enterprises, data centres, and service providers.

Cisco Secure Firewall 4200 Series is a high-end firewall designed for large enterprises, data centres, and service providers, with three performance models delivering up to 90 Gbps of firewall throughput. Purpose-built hardware, high-speed interfaces, and clustering handle demanding, high-throughput environments with full threat defence. Faltrox deploys, designs, and operates it as the enterprise or data-centre perimeter.

    Overview

What Secure Firewall 4200 Series is

The Secure Firewall 4200 Series is Cisco’s high-end firewall line for the demanding environments of large enterprises, data centres, and service providers. It is available in three performance models (4215, 4225, 4245) delivering up to 90 Gbps of firewall throughput, with high-speed on-chassis interfaces and network-module flexibility for high-bandwidth links.

It runs Firewall Threat Defense with Snort 3 IPS, application visibility and control, URL filtering, malware defence, and the Encrypted Visibility Engine, and supports clustering for horizontal scale. Purpose-built hardware sustains high throughput with advanced threat inspection enabled, and integration with Cisco XDR and Talos ties it into the wider defence. Managed by Firewall Management Center or cloud Security Cloud Control, it anchors the enterprise or data-centre perimeter. Faltrox deploys it, designs the high-availability and clustering architecture, and operates it as managed defence.

    How it works

    The mechanism

How the product moves from signal to protected state, step by step.

    1. 01

      Size

Choose from three models (4215/4225/4245) up to 90 Gbps, sized to the enterprise or data-centre perimeter.

    2. 02

      Deploy

Run Firewall Threat Defense with high-availability pairs or clusters, managed by FMC or cloud Security Cloud Control.

    3. 03

      Inspect

Full threat defence — Snort 3 IPS, AVC, URL, malware, Encrypted Visibility — runs at high throughput on purpose-built hardware.

    4. 04

      Scale

Clustering adds horizontal capacity for the most demanding, high-bandwidth environments.

    5. 05

      Operate

Faltrox designs the HA and clustering architecture, maintains software, and monitors the firewalls as managed defence.

    FAQ

    Common questions

01Who is the 4200 Series for?

Large enterprises, data centres, and service providers that need high-throughput firewalling — up to 90 Gbps across three models — with full threat defence and clustering. It sits above the mid-range 3100 and below the ultra-high-performance 6100. Faltrox sizes it to your environment.

02Does it keep full threat inspection at high throughput?

Yes — purpose-built hardware sustains high throughput with Snort 3 IPS, application control, malware defence, and Encrypted Visibility all enabled, so you do not trade security for speed at the enterprise or data-centre perimeter.

03How does it scale beyond a single appliance?

Through clustering — multiple appliances operate as one logical firewall for horizontal scale, which is how the highest-demand environments grow capacity while keeping a single policy and management point.

04Does it integrate with the rest of a Cisco security stack?

Yes. Detections are enriched by Cisco Talos threat intelligence and correlated across endpoint, network, and cloud via Cisco XDR, and it is managed alongside the rest of the Secure Firewall estate from FMC or Security Cloud Control.

    05How does Faltrox operate it?

We deploy and size the appliances, design the high-availability and clustering architecture and policy, maintain software, and monitor the firewalls — folding their detections into the SOC services we run for managed enterprise defence.
